If departing from Užice, we begin at the Kadinjača Memorial Complex, perched atop the hill between Užice and Bajina Bašta, honoring the fallen warriors of the 1941 Republic of Užice with sweeping views of the valley below. Next, we visit the Rujno Monastery, rebuilt to commemorate the original 16th-century church where Serbia’s first printed book, the Fourth Gospel, was produced. Enjoy the panoramic landscapes surrounding Rujan before continuing on to Šargan Vitasi for the optional Šargan Eight train ride—a 90-minute journey with photo stops at each station.

After the train segment, we explore the Jatarice Open-Air Steam Museum, showcasing historic field and road-building machinery, followed by a visit to the serene St. Jovan Church and a refreshing pause at the “White Water” spring. The final highlight is Drvengrad Ethno-Village, Emir Kusturica’s wooden town, where tradition and film artistry merge.

If departing from Zlatibor, we start with a scenic drive over the 77 m-high dam at Vrutci Lake, then head directly to the Rujno Monastery as above. From there, the route follows the same itinerary: Šargan Eight, Jatarice Museum, St. Jovan Church, “White Water” spring, and Drvengrad.
